Instructions: Thank you for completing the application. All applicants are required to submit a Scholar Ambition Statement where you answer 3-5 questions. This will help us understand your ambitions and how we can support you. If you’re applying for a mentor, it will also help us find a good mentor match for you. We may ask you to expand on some of these questions during your interview process.

Deadline: This statement must be received before your Scholar Admissions Interview. Please answer the below questions in your own words. Your statement should have a word count of 150-350 words in total.

  • Q1. Why would you like to join the GT Scholars programme?

    Feel free to include information such as your academic and career ambitions, your strengths, the things you are good at, why joining the programme is important to you and what you hope to gain from the programme.

  • Q2. Who are your role models and what do you admire about them?

    Try to think of 2-3 role models that you admire and tell us what you admire about them, why you admire them and how they have impacted you. These role models can be people that you know personally or people that you have heard of.

  • Q3. What are you most proud of?

    Tell us about the activities you have taken part in, activities that you enjoy or the things that you have achieved, that you also feel proud of. You can also tell us about a time when you had to overcome a challenge. Make sure you explain the challenge and how you overcame this.

  • Q4. Why would you like to have a tutor? (Optional)

    If you have applied to a programme that includes tutoring, please tell us more about why you would like to have 1-1 online tutoring sessions. What are your academic goals? What are you attaining at the moment? What help do you need, and what difference could tutoring make to your grades?

  • Q5. Why would you like to have a mentor? (Optional)

    Our 1-to-1 mentoring programmes are free, and priority goes to scholars who are already on our programmes. We will send you an email with more information once you’ve joined a programme. Please only answer the following questions if you would like to have a mentor:
