The SUCCESS ACADEMY

Build High Performance Habits for Exam Success

Equip your child with the strategic habits, leadership skills, and peer community they need to bridge the gap between academic potential and top-tier grades.

Why Mindset Beats Pure Tutoring

Parents often ask: “Can my child afford the time for leadership workshops?” The research suggests they can’t afford to miss them.

  • The 7-Month Advantage: The Education Endowment Foundation (UK) found that Metacognition (Habit 7) adds an average of 7 months of additional progress in a single year.
  • The 95% Rule: Dr. David McClelland (Harvard) proved that your “Reference Group”—the people you surround yourself with—determines up to 95% of your success.
  • Self-Efficacy: Research from Stanford and Yale confirms that building self-efficacy in teens is the primary predictor of university completion and career earnings.

“Just 15-20 minutes of strategic habit-building per week can save a scholar 5+ hours of inefficient, frustrated study & revision time at home.”

The Neuroscience of Momentum

How “Small Wins” Lead to Big Results

It is a biological reality: the teenage brain is wired to crave immediate feedback. While a final grade is the ultimate goal, it is often too distant to provide the daily “spark” needed for deep study.

We bridge this gap through Gamified Growth. By rewarding workshop attendance and co-working discipline with points and prizes, we tap into The Progress Principle—the scientific fact that small, immediate wins are the most powerful way to sustain long-term ambition.

This motivation is balanced with our Success Habits Audit—a data-driven diagnostic delivered every two months. This gives you and your child a clear, measurable report on their growth, transforming the hard work of revision into a rewarding journey of personal mastery.

Designed for Every Stage of Academic Growth

To ensure peer relevance and impactful coaching, workshops are strictly divided into three developmental tiers based on your child’s current academic stage.

Foundation Years

Ages 10-12

Building the initial confidence and organisational habits needed for a smooth transition to secondary education.

Development Years

Ages 13-15

Strategically targeting GCSE preparation through advanced metacognition, grit, and resilience.

Performance Years

Ages 16-18

Sophisticated leadership skills and university-readiness strategies for A-level success and beyond.

The Infrastructure of High Performance

The Success Academy moves beyond traditional tutoring by addressing the mindset, environment, and specialised knowledge required to secure top-tier grades and competitive career paths.

Success Habits Workshops

Pillar 1: 20 Minutes of Strategic Mastery

Scholars attend weekly workshops led by our expert coaches. By dedicating just 15-20 minutes per week, to learning about high-performance habits like Metacognition and Goal Setting, scholars learn to “train smarter,” making their school-day learning and homework time more efficient and effective.

Research Insight: The Education Endowment Foundation (UK) confirms that mastering metacognitive strategies adds an average of 7 months of additional academic progress in a single year.

Pillar 2: Accountability Co-Working

Our co-working sessions provide the professional environment teenagers need to overcome procrastination. Working individually but within a community of focused peers fosters a culture of excellence where study becomes a standard, not a chore.

Research Insight: Harvard psychologist Dr David McClelland proved that your “Reference Group” determines up to 95% of your success. Surrounding scholars with ambitious peers is the primary driver of academic growth.

Accountability Co-Working
Online Learning Hub

Pillar 3: The Premium Learning Hub

Scholars gain 24/7 access to an on-demand vault of specialised courses—from Oxbridge preparation to Growth Mindset masterclasses. This allows scholars to take ownership of their own development and master complex concepts at their own pace.

Research Insight: Research from the Research Institute of America shows that self-paced e-learning increases information retention rates by 25% to 60% compared to traditional classroom settings.

The Science of Motivation

Pillar 4: Points, Prizes & The Dopamine Loop

We design the environment to ensure scholars stay motivated through a strategic reward system. Scholars earn points for attendance, accountability co-working, and habit mastery, with prizes and rewarded for top performers to celebrate their consistency and discipline.

Research Insight: Research from the University of Pennsylvania found that gamified learning environments can increase student productivity and engagement by up to 40%.

Scholar Rewards and Recognition
Success Habits Audit Diagnostic

5. Pillar 5: The Success Habits Audit

To ensure growth is measurable, scholars complete a termly diagnostic audit. This provides a data-driven report on your child’s development across the 9 habits, moving from “hoping for progress” to measuring mastery.

The Progress Principle: Harvard researcher Teresa Amabile found that tracking small wins is the most powerful driver of long-term intrinsic motivation. The Audit turns abstract growth into a clear, visual roadmap.

What our scholars say…

  • It was difficult at the beginning because you already have so much to do at school, and it feels like you don't have time, but you actually get used to it. I've moved up a set in my French and my Maths. I'm actually looking forward to my GCSEs!

    Abi, age 15
  • I've learned that learning means you have to push yourself...no one can make you learn...It's a bit like sports...If you don't push yourself, you won't get better...I'd say I have improved because I'm making more of an effort, and I'm better at organising my time and my homework.

    Shaun, age 12
  • It's a good programme...you start to see that actually you are quite clever...because now in class I understand things and I don't get worried when we have a new topic because I know that if I just focus I will be able to understand it.

    Gabrielle, Age 11
  • I started with GT Scholars in Year 8, and back then, I thought of myself as an average student. By Year 11, I found myself in the top set. I ended up getting mostly 8s & 9s - basically some of the best grades in my school for my GCSEs. The support has been phenomenal.

  • My tutors really helped me improve in Maths.
I was initially predicted a 5 for my GCSE Maths... I didn't think I could do better than that.
I ended up getting a 7, which I am extremely proud of.

FAQs

[SUCCESS ACADEMY]
  • Is Success Academy membership included in your core programmes?

You can purchase the Success Academy membership on its own for £79/month. However, the Success Academy is included as part of the Individualised Pathway (1-to-1 tutoring) and the Collaborative Pathway (small group tutoring) at no extra charge. This ensures that every scholar has access to the leadership and mindset training necessary to improve and maintain high grades at school.

  • How much time does my child need to commit to the Success Academy?

For most scholars, they will be able to see the benefits of being in the Success Academy by dedicating 15-20 minutes per week to the training content. Scholars can also join our Saturday study hall sessions, where they work independently but stay accountable to their academic coach and other scholars in the live session. The Success Academy is designed to be flexible. We offer a combination of live and recorded courses, and scholars can engage at their own pace. This flexibility is vital for students balancing heavy academic and extra-curricular workloads.

  • How do the Saturday study hall sessions work?

The Saturday study hall sessions are approximately 75 minutes long. The sessions include a short 15-20 minute mini workshop designed to support their learning journey and growth. The remainder of the sessions can be used for independent homework or revision, providing scholars with accountability during their dedicated study time.

  • How does the XP points system work?

By engaging in sessions across our programmes, scholars can gain and build XP points. These points can be redeemed for Amazon vouchers and various prizes. Scholars will gain points throughout the year and these points can be redeemed each year, typically in the anniversary term of their starting date.

  • Does my child have to complete all the courses and micro-lessons in the Success Academy?

No. Scholars are welcome to partake in the courses that are most relevant to them, and are not required to complete all the courses included in the Success Academy.

  • Are the Success Habits relevant for the US curriculum (AP/Common Core)?

Absolutely. The core principles – such as time management, metacognition and growth mindset – are universal. In fact, these habits are essential for the high workload of Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the critical thinking required for US college entrance requirements.

  • How does the Success Academy benefit scholars who are preparing for UK, US and International university applications?

The skills developed through the Success Academy – including leadership, metacognition, goal-setting, and resilience – are precisely the qualities that top universities look for beyond academic grades. For scholars targeting Russell Group universities in the UK, or competitive universities in the USA, the Success Academy helps them build the personal statement material, interview confidence, and independent thinking that sets outstanding applicants apart. Our mentors include graduates from leading institutions who provide direct insight into what these universities expect.

  • My child already achieves strong grades - is the Success Academy still relevant for them?

Absolutely – in fact, high-achieving students often gain the most. Good grades open doors, but the Success Academy equips scholars with the edge required to walk through them. University interviews, competitive internships, and career entry all demand confidence, leadership, and self-awareness that grades alone do not build. For high-flyers, the Success Academy provides the “stretch” needed to move from strong to exceptional.
