1. FULL FEES & BURSARY AMOUNTS

Full fees: Fees for the programme are always paid in advance for the 12-week term. Fees quoted include any tutoring, mentoring, enrichment and skills sessions within the term. When your child joins the programme, there is a registration fee, along with a returnable deposit. For details on individual student programme fees, please register your interest or schedule a call.

Means-tested fees: A limited number of bursaries are available to parents and carers with a total household income under £60,000. The means-tested fee and bursary for scholars is subject to an annual income reassessment and satisfactory attendance.

Additional costs: Lunch will be provided for full day events and activities. Young people on the tutoring programme will be required to purchase their own books.

2. TERMS & SESSIONS

Number of sessions: The academic year runs from September to July. There are 3 terms in the academic year and approximately 12 sessions in each term. The majority of sessions take place on weekday evenings and weekends. Some sessions may be scheduled to take place during school holidays.

Term dates for the 2016/2017 academic year:
Term 1: 1st September 2016 to 30th November 2016
Term 2: 1st December 2016 to 28th February 2017
Term 3: 1st March 2017 to 30th May 2017

Attendance: Scholars are expected to maintain a minimum of 90% attendance throughout the academic year.

Tutoring sessions: Group tutoring sessions are 1.5 hours per session. One-to-one sessions are 1 hour long.

Term dates: The Autumn term is from September to December, the Winter term is from January to March and the Spring term is from April to July. Tutoring sessions usually end in early or mid June.

3. DUE DATES

Annual payment: Parents may pay fees in advance for the whole year or pay in advance for each term. We do not accept weekly or monthly payments. There is a 3% discount applied to payments made in advance for the whole year. Please inform us if you prefer to be invoiced for the year.

Payment due dates: The terms start in September, January and April. Parents will be sent an invoice before the start of each term. Payment for the term must be made on or before the due date to secure your place for the following term. The due date for each term is 30th July (Term 1), 30th November (Term 2) and 28th February (Term 3).

4. APPLYING FOR BURSARIES

Applying for means-tested fees: To apply for a bursary, you will need to complete the main application form and answer the additional busary questions.

Evidence to support your application: If you are a parent or carer and you would like to pay reduced fees, you will need to provide evidence of your income such as End of Year Accounts, P60 documents and Inland Revenue Tax Returns. The amount of assistance will be reviewed every year so you will have to provide details of your income annually.

Assessing your application: Your band will depend on your total household income and any other mitigating circumstances. This is calculated by taking into consideration all sources of income from both parents or carers. Your income is calculated from the preceding income tax year to the school year you are being assessed for.

Re-assessment date for means-tested fees: Scholars that are already on the programme will need to submit a new income assessment form on or before 1st May in each academic year. Scholars that have been allocated a means-tested place will be informed by 1st June.

5. GENERAL INFORMATION ON FEES & PAYMENTS

Payment methods: Please note that we do not accept weekly or monthly standing orders or direct debit payments. Payment may be made before the start of each term by credit card, debit card or bank transfer. Details of payment may be found on your invoice.

Sibling discount: There is a 20% discount for families with two or more scholars on the programme. Fees will need to be paid at the start of the year or the start of each term.

Notice period: There is a six week notice period. Parents and carers will need to inform us in writing at least six weeks before the last day of term in order to terminate their child’s place on the programme. This is so that we have adequate time to allocated the place to another scholar. Where six-weeks’ notice is not provided, GT Scholars reserves the right to charge the full fees or means-tested fee for the following term.

Cancellations and refunds: Fees for the term are based on attendance for the full term. We are unable to provide refunds for missed or unattended sessions.

Late payment: Tutors and mentors will not be able to work with scholars that have not made payment for the term. Children that have not made payment before the start of term should not attend sessions as they will not be included on the register.

Changes to fees: Fees for the academic year will be available in April of each year. GT Scholars CIC reserves the right to review or alter fees at any time and with a notice period of half a term.
