Volunteers and Friends of GT Scholars – Volunteer Opportunities this February!
Good Morning! It’s Friday and I hope you’re looking forward to a great weekend! Last week we had our first workshop for this term and we’re really excited about our events lined up in the next few weeks. Read on to find out more!
Can you support us at our upcoming workshops?
We need event volunteers, workshop facilitators, and event coordinators to support us at our next workshop for young people on our Bright Ambitions and Head Start Programme. The workshop will take place at Bell House in Dulwich (SE21 7BG) on Saturday 16th February from 10am-4pm. Please let me know if you’re available to help on this date and I’ll get in touch to share more details with you.
Upcoming events for young people living in care
The next two events on our Raising Aspirations Programme will be university visits for young people living in care aged 12-15. We are looking for volunteers, workshop facilitators and events coordinators to help on these days. The first visit is at LSE on Monday 18th February from 10am-3pm and the second one is at the University of Westminster on Tuesday 19th February also from 10am-3pm. If you’d like to be part of these visits, please contact me and I’ll get in touch to share more details with you.
Would you like to volunteer as a mentor?
We are busy preparing for the launch of The Young Leaders Programme. This programme is all about supporting young people aged 16 to 18 in developing their leadership skills and in gaining access to top universities or apprenticeships. Young people on this programme will work directly with mentors to achieve their specific goals. The programme will start on Monday 22nd April 2019. Please get in touch if you’re available and would like to get involved and feel free to tell your friends and colleagues about our volunteer opportunities.
GT Scholars is a not-for-profit social enterprise and registered charity. Our after-school tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programme is designed to help young people aged 11-18 achieve their academic and career aspirations. Visit our website if you’d like to know more about the GT Scholars Programme and how you can make a significant difference in young people’s lives.
