Volunteers and Friends of GT Scholars – Volunteer Opportunities for the new term!

We hope you are looking forward to the weekend, but before it kicks off we would like to share a few things with you!

Could you volunteer as a tutor or mentor next term?
The third term is starting soon and that means it’s crunch time for our young people, especially those in Year 10 and 11. The last term is always a busy time and young people need all the support they can get. Could you volunteer your time to tutor or mentor for one hour a week and make a difference in a young person’s life? If so, please feel free to contact us for more information. We’d love to hear from you.

Meetup at WeWork Moorgate
Have you registered your attendance for our Volunteer Meetup next month? It will be held on Thursday 17th May at WeWork Moorgate. We are looking forward to spending the evening with you and sharing the impact we’ve made this term. New volunteers are also welcome to complete their DBS checks during the evening, just remember to bring your original documentation along. You can register your attendance by visiting our Meetup or Eventbrite page. It would be great to have you there!

The Benefits of Mindfulness
Mindfulness can be a useful tool that is worth introducing to your tutee or mentee. There are many benefits, including increasing concentration and also being an effective way for young people to deal with stress and balancing their busy lives. Read our blog post for more information on mindfulness and its many benefits.

GT Scholars is a not-for-profit social enterprise and registered charity. Our after-school tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programmes are designed to help young people aged 11-18 achieve their academic and career aspirations. Contact us to find out how you can join us a volunteer tutor or mentor and make a difference in young people’s lives.
