Volunteers and Friends of GT Scholars – Could you be a panellist for our annual Career Day?

In this week’s newsletter we would like to tell you more about an exciting upcoming event and also share a website for free tutoring resources with you.

The GT Scholars Career Day 2018
Our annual GT Scholars Career Day 2018 will take place on Saturday, 3rd March 2018 at Goldsmiths University from 10:00am – 4:00pm. We are looking for volunteers to inspire young people to reach for the stars by sharing career success stories and helping to shed some light on the different career options available to them. If you would like to join our panel of speakers please contact us.

Free Teaching Resources
If you are a tutor, you should visit the BBC Bitesize website to find free amazing teaching resources to keep your lessons fresh, fun and interesting. All subjects are covered and there are plenty of resources to choose from including revision exercises, tests and fun activities.

Private Tuition and Social Mobility
One of our main goals that is also shared with our volunteers is the desire to help young people achieve their full potential. It is always interesting to look at the bigger picture, especially when it comes to social mobility in the UK and how private tuition has an impact on it. Follow this link to watch this insightful video from the Sutton Trust on private tuition and social mobility. We hope this motivates you to continue to make a difference.

GT Scholars is a not-for-profit social enterprise and registered charity. Our after-school tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programmes are designed to help young people aged 11-18 achieve their academic and career aspirations. Contact us to find out how you can join us a volunteer tutor or mentor and make a difference in young people’s lives.
