In The Know: Opportunites for A-level students

As we come to the end of 2016, we’re looking ahead to the new year and to what is out there for your older children. We’ve found 3 exciting opportunities that are open to A-level students and could provide a great alternative if your child is not sure that University is the right path for them.

Accenture (Technology apprenticeship with your degree costs covered)
If your child is thinking about a career in technology and is taking STEM-related A-level subjects, then this 3-4 year Technology Degree Apprenticeship Scheme could be perfect for them. They would get valuable insight into the world of technology in business, whilst working with industry experts and they would even receive a degree by the end of it. BP (Energy apprenticeship)
Become an apprentice in one of the world’s largest energy firms! The Supply and Trading School Leaver Programme would provide your child with the relevant skills and experiences needed to succeed in a business role. This 5-year programme gives young people the opportunity to ‘try out’ all the different sectors of the organisation whilst being coached and mentored throughout by senior members of the team. If your child is driven and determined and expected to do well in their A-levels, find out more on their website.

Denton (Law apprenticeship with your degree costs covered)
Denton are offering an innovative programme that enables you to train as a solicitor. A 6-year programme that results in a LLB university degree, this is a great opportunity to consider if your child is keen to pursue a career in law. Your child must be hard-working and resilient, with good grades at GCSEs and high predicted A-levels so, if this sounds like your son/daughter, visit their website to read more. The deadline for applications is 6th January, so apply soon to avoid disappointment.
