In The Know: Interested in Music and Acting? Here are some opportunities for budding artists.

Tomorrow is International Dance Day and this day is celebrated every year on the 29th of April. The day after that is International Jazz Day and in recognition of these days we have put together some opportunities for those interested in the performing arts.

West End Kids National Auditions: The famous West End dance troupe is holding auditions countrywide for all youngsters between the ages of 9 and 18 who are interested in either singing or dancing. Successful applicants will gain on the job experience by performing with the troupe at big events and festivals. The deadline for applications is 30 April. The Great Big Dance-off: This is a National Schools Dance Competition open to all schools across England and Wales. This opportunity is for youngsters who perform as part of a school team. This competition allows for all dance styles and schools can enter as many teams as they want. The deadline for submissions for the following year is 16th of December. National Youth Arts Trust: They provide bursaries for young people between the ages of 7 and 25 to study music, dance and acting. This opportunity is open to young people residing within the UK, who have an interest in the performing arts. Applications open on the 1st of May and close on the 26th of June 2017.For more information on this offer, please read here
