It’s National Coding Week next week! With technology becoming integrated into daily life, the demand for technology skills is more important than ever before. Coding is an excellent way for your child to develop their technology skills, boost their communication, creativity, and self-confidence. We thought it would be great to share exciting coding opportunities that you get your child involved in. Read on to find out more!
Make a game with Microsoft!
Microsoft is hosting a free, online workshop for young people aged 13 and up. In this workshop, your child will have the opportunity to design and code a game to play. The workshop will give your child the chance to practice designing and modifying games, learn fundamental and intermediate block-based coding skills and explore how to use the MakeCode Arcade platform. This event takes place on Wednesday 15th September, and you can join here.

Join the At_nology team for a free, online coding and information session! During this event, your child will get insight into the fundamentals of software development and get an idea of what working in a tech job is like. There will also be a Q&A session where your child will have the opportunity to ask coding questions that they would like. This event takes place on Tuesday 21st September and is open to young people aged 13 and up! You can register here.
Be part of Coding for Girls!
Girls into Coding is hosting a free, online workshop for girls aged 10-14. This event is aimed at inspiring and encouraging girls to get involved in the tech world and explore online coding activities! This is a fantastic opportunity for your child to learn how to code using Python, to get some more advanced, hands-on coding experience. This online workshop takes place on Sunday 5th September, and you can book your ticket here.
Applications for our online 1:1 Programmes are open!
We’re excited to let you know that applications are open for our 1:1 online Tutoring & Mentoring Programmes. Our scholars have been able to move up by 2-grade points within a year of being on one of our programmes eg. from a D-grade to a B-grade!
