In the Know: Exploring your Child’s Potential!

We hope your week has been well! I thought I’d let you know that our Career Insight Day with Brit Insurance last week Friday was an absolute success! Our 21 semi-finalists from the GT Scholars x Brit Insurance Digital Challenge received their certificates and took part in activities to boost teamwork and build their skills. If your child wasn’t able to take part in the digital challenge, this newsletter will provide some free resources to inspire and motivate their greatness.

Explore the World of Coding!
Tynker is one of the world’s leading creative coding platforms, enabling students of all ages to learn to code at home, school, and on the go. Their interactive story-based learning progresses to real world text-based coding languages like JavaScript, and focuses on learning programming and developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. You can access these free online courses here.

Discover Study Resources!
BBC offers a free online learning resource called Bitesize that is designed to help students of all ages with their learning, homework and revision. This resource provides support for KS3 and GCSE, and you can pick specific subjects to improve on. They also provide career support and guidance for young people deciding on their future careers. You can find this incredible resource here.

Listen to this Inspiring Tedx Talk!
17 year old Taylor Wilson is a nuclear physicist who started his journey with the dream of building a ‘star in a jar’, built his first nuclear fusion reactor at 14 years old, and met the president of the United States to discuss his research in nuclear fusion. In this inspiring Tedx Talk, he speaks about his strides in nuclear research, and how kids can change the world.
