In The Know – Could Your Child be the next Jamie Oliver?
There’s always time during the holidays to pick up new skills! Our newsletter this week takes a look at some exciting training workshops for young people. Who knows? They might even pick up a new hobby or even contemplate a future career! Here are three workshops to keep young people energized and learning!
Want to be the next Jamie Oliver?
Jamie Oliver’s Cookery School in Shepherd’s Bush is offering a range of courses which will enable you to cook up a storm! If you book a spot on the cooking course, an accompanying child does not have to pay. It is a great way to spend time with your child/ward and learn some great new skills. Courses available include pasta making, bread making, pizza for pros and even becoming a sushi master! Space is limited so book now!
Vlog like a pro
Media Trust together with Google Academy bring you YouTube Vlogging training for 16-25 year olds in London. This free one day workshop will give you the chance to improve your media skills and learn how to shoot, edit and publish your own inspiring vlogs using only your mobile phone. Also, by participating in the workshop, you will have the opportunity to enter your best vlogs into the Vlogstar Challenge! Places are limited so book your spot here.
Interested in computers?
STEMettes in partnership with Rise London are hosting the Stemettes Rise Hack. A hackathon is not what you think it is. Girls will not be learning how to break into stuff but instead learning how to create amazing things using computers and technology. This free event is open to girls aged 5-22 and no previous coding experience is required. If you do have coding experience, there will be experts on hard to teach you how to create more complex apps.
