In the Know – Activities for National Coding Week!
In recognition of National Coding Week, this week’s newsletter is all about ways to get your child interested in the wonderful world of coding. Not only does it get their creative juices flowing but it also teaches them math, engineering and computer science! Here are three coding activities which young people can enjoy.
EasyCoding Club is an exciting after school programme that inspires young children to explore robotics and technology. Classes are open to young people aged 6 and over. The classes are held weekly at multiple locations and are dedicated to applying math in a fun, engaging way along with teaching key science and engineering practices. Kids Code Club
The Walthamstow Library is starting a kids code club running every Tuesday starting next week, 25 September. Suitable for children aged 7-11, the club teaches easy to follow, step-by-step coding concepts to get kids excited about computer science. To find out how to register for the club, click here.
Catalyst Science Discovery Centre runs a Science Club on the second Saturday of every month from 11am to 1pm. The club is free for young people aged 11-14 and is a great way for science fans to experience STEM activities. Activities by the club include robotics, forensic science and rockets.
