Friends of GT Scholars – Volunteer, inspire and share your story!
Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week? Over here, we’ve been busy with the finishing touches for the Careers Day, we’ve also been blown away with the registrations coming in! The response we’ve received from young people and parents has been fantastic, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve had a whopping 7500 registrations for tomorrow’s online event! If you’re not taking part in the Careers Day, don’t miss out on the fun, grab a cup of tea, and make sure to pop in and join us online via youtube. Before I get too carried away with excitement, have a look at today’s newsletter.
Feature on The Young Gifted & Talent Podcast!
The Youth Board will be launching their video podcast ‘Young Gifted & Talented’ next month! Thank you to everyone who has submitted their details so far. The Youth Board are keen to get started and are open to meeting more volunteers for the podcast. The podcast episodes will be published on their Youtube Channel & on Spotify. If you’d like to support the Youth Board with their new podcast, please get in touch!
Volunteer on the Bright Ambitions Programme
The new term will start in mid-April, and we’re looking for volunteer mentors & tutors to support young people on the Bright Ambitions Programme! The programme has been designed to help young people improve their grades, leadership skills and achieve their academic & career goals. This programme includes tutoring and mentoring for young people aged 11-16. If you can volunteer as a tutor for 1-hr a week or join us as a mentor for 2-hrs a month, please let me know!
Fancy being part of our spotlight interview series?
We’re looking for volunteers that can share their volunteering story with parents and young people, as well as the rest of our incredible volunteer network. I know lockdown has made things challenging at best, and it’s not easy to arrange physical meetings, but we would still like to find a way to continue to share these wonderful and inspiring stories with everyone. If you’re open to feature in our next spotlight, please hit reply so that we can set up a meeting!
Have a beautiful weekend!
