Friends of GT Scholars – Volunteer at the Online Careers Day!

Friday at last! Over here, things are literally buzzing, and we’re busy getting everything ready for the upcoming Careers Day! The speaker line-up is growing, more and more people are registering for this online event! Exciting times! Thank you to everyone who’s already signed up to volunteer on this day! Please check your inbox this week so you can choose which session you’ll be speaking at! If you’d like to get involved with the Careers Day, have a look at some really awesome volunteering opportunities below.

Tell your university about Careers Day!
We’d like to include more university talks to our Careers Day coming up on Saturday 27th February. This is a great opportunity for universities in different parts of England, to reach more young people. We’re expecting at least 500 young people and parents to join on the day. If you’re a student or you’re connected with a university, please feel free to connect us with your university’s widening participation team. We’d love to set up a meeting to explain more about how they can get involved. Hit reply if you’re able to connect us with a university.

Events team volunteers needed!
We’re in need of some superstars that can work behind the scenes helping with running the online event. As part of the events volunteer team, you’ll be reviewing the questions from parents and young people, organising online poll results, and directing questions to the speakers on different panels. The Careers Day will take place on Saturday 27th February and will run from 9:30am to 4pm, but please note that you won’t need to be available for the entire day. The workshop sessions are 90min each, and you can choose which time slots you’d like to help with. Please let me know if you’d like to sign up!

Share Online Careers Day with young people
Our Careers Day will be taking place in a month from now, and we’ve already got a lot of parents & young people who’ve registered to attend! This year, Careers Day will be online for the first time and young people and their parents will be able to choose the workshops that they would like to attend during the day prior to the event. If you would also like to share this event with anyone who’d be interested to be there, please feel free to do so by sharing this link for them to register!

Have a beautiful weekend!
