Friends of GT Scholars – Share your career story with young people!
It’s almost the weekend, and I hope you’re Friday has been off to a great start!? This November we celebrate National Career Development Month, and we’re joining in, to help raise awareness for young people to develop & build their skills to ultimately widen their horizons and to also prepare them for their future careers. Read on to find out more about how you can volunteer to help young people by sharing your skills with them!
Would you like to feature in our Volunteer Spotlight?
Our spotlight video interviews really inspire people in so many ways as you have a chance to see the unique stories of parents, young people and also our amazing team of volunteers. We understand that with the covid outbreak it’s not easy to arrange physical meetings, but we would still like to continue to provide these wonderful and inspiring stories in some way. If you are interested in featuring in our next spotlight, please send me a quick email so that we can set up a meeting!
Share more about your career with young people!
We’ll be launching a new programme soon! The Careers Contact Programme will host a series of online career days. As a volunteer panellist, you’ll be able to share your career journey with young people interested in following the same career path. During the sessions, you’ll share more about your career and what to expect working in a similar role. There will also be a live Q&A session where young people will have the chance to ask you about your career. If you’d like to sign up for this volunteer opportunity, hit the reply button and we’ll get in touch.
Would you like to be a guest on our podcast?
Thank you to everyone who got back to us about featuring in one of our podcast interviews! We’re still looking for more volunteers who’d like to share their professional experience and knowledge with young people in a video-podcast which will be led by our youth board! We’ll spend some time learning more about you and following this, some of the young people and parents will get to ask questions. The interview and Q&A will be around 90 minutes. If you have some time to share about your career or life experience with young people, please get in touch!
Have an awesome weekend!
