Friends of GT Scholars – Resources, opportunities and sharing advice!
Can you believe that we’re already in October!? October marks Black History Month and as a diverse organisation, we’re proud to be part of the change that is needed to create equal opportunities for all young people, regardless of their background! Black History Month is the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate diversity and recognise the impact and contribution of people of Black heritage around the world!
BAME opportunities for your tutee or mentee!
We’re excited to share our latest free resources list with you! The list includes 30 opportunities including scholarships, apprenticeships and work opportunities for young people of black heritage, or of BAME background. If relevant, feel free to share specific opportunities that your tutee or mentee may benefit from and also share this list with your scholar’s parents or carers. Feel free to also forward this to any other young person or parents in your network that can benefit from this list. Visit our website for the free download.
Have you visited the Learning Directory yet?
The new term is almost in full swing, and some volunteer tutors and mentors have already started their first sessions! Did you know that we’ve got a learning directory filled with great, free resources that can help you plan and prepare for your sessions? Thanks to the help of a few amazing volunteers we’ve been able to list over 250 free learning resources in the directory and you can even search by age and subject too! To check it out, click here!
Get 2 minutes of fame and use it to inspire a young person!
We’re looking for real-life, relatable and inspirational figures that can share their business/career tips, personal quotes, or words of wisdom with the next generation! The quotes will be published on our Instagram, LinkedIn and other social media platforms, and it’ll take no more than 2 minutes to share your words of wisdom. Ready to share your life or business advice? You can submit it here!
Have a lovely weekend!
