Friends of GT Scholars – Could you be on the panel for our Dragon’s Den Challenge?

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week so far? It’s definitely been a great week for our furry friends across the world – now that the queen has given up fur!!! I’m surprised it’s taken this long to make this change but better late than never! We’ve got some exciting opportunities this week including Dragon’s Den (And of course, No Dragons were harmed in the production of this event!) Scroll down to find out more…

Can you join our panel of judges?
In a couple of weeks, we’ll be hosting the annual Dragon’s Den Challenge which will take place during Global Entrepreneurship Week! This workshop will give young people the opportunity to work in groups and come up with a business idea to present to a panel of judges. This is a really fun way for them to boost their presentation and entrepreneurial skills. We’re looking for volunteers to be on our panel of judges. The event will take place on Saturday 23rd November at Goldsmiths University in New Cross from 10am – 4pm. Please let me know if you’d like to help!

Volunteer Meetup!
It’s almost time for our next Volunteer Meetup! Our Meetups offer you the chance to meet fellow volunteers and workshop facilitators and also gives us the opportunity to share with you the impact GT Scholars has made in the lives of the young people we work with. New volunteers still in the application stage can also complete their document verification with one of our team members on the day. We still need to finalise a few things and I’ll confirm all the details of this Meetup shortly. In the meantime, you can join our Meetup group here. It’s a great way to stay updated with the Meetup details.

Do you know of any organisations that would like to partner with us?
Did you know that GT Scholars is a registered charity and we run fully funded programmes for different groups of young people, like the Raising Aspirations Programme for young people living in care and the Future Leaders Programme for young people at risk of exclusion? We’re always looking to make new connections and partnerships with other organisations. This could be in the form of financial support, access to volunteers or space for our workshops and events. If you know of any organisations that may be interested in partnering with us, please let me know.

Have a great weekend!
