Friends of GT Scholars – Check out our latest Volunteer Spotlight!

Happy Friday! The weekend is here and so is the new term!! Thank you to everyone who confirmed their availability to volunteer with us this term. We’re currently busy preparing all matches for the term, and I’ll be in touch soon if I’ve not been in touch already. We’ve received excellent feedback from parents and scholars from the last term, and we have no doubt that this term will also be a great one! For now, let’s get started with this week’s newsletter.

Rhys Rawlings takes the volunteer spotlight!
In our latest spotlight interview, Rhys tells us about his own experience with having one to one support from teachers when he was younger to achieve his goals. Since then, Rhys has become a volunteer tutor and is passionate about helping young people who’re struggling the most. If you have a minute, take a quick break, put your feet up, and have a look at the full interview here!

Career Summit registration now open!
Registration for our Careers Day is now open! The Careers Day will take place online on Saturday the 27th of February, and we’re really looking forward to hearing all the guest speakers insights and career stories. This event is open to parents and young people, so if you have someone in mind who’d like to attend, please feel free to share the registration page link with them!

Mentoring worksheets to help you kick off the new term!
If you’re a mentor in search of inspiring new ways to catch your mentee’s attention this term, you’re in the right place! With the help of our volunteers, we’ve put together a few mentoring worksheets with a wide range of topics to get you started! In these worksheets, we cover from getting revision right, to creating your first CV. Have you had a look at our mentoring worksheets yet? If you would like to have a copy of the worksheets, please feel free to get in touch!

Have a beautiful weekend!
