Friends of GT Scholars – Can you volunteer your time as an English Tutor?

Yay! It’s finally Friday! Over here we’ve been picking up the pace a bit as we move out of summer mode and into gear for the new term starting in just a week. As we plan for the new term, I’d like to tell you about some volunteer opportunities you might like to get involved in this term.

We need Volunteer English Tutors!

I’d like to give a huge shout out to everyone who confirmed their availability this term! We’re still a bit short on English tutors, so we’re looking for volunteers to tutor English up to GCSE level for 1 hour a week for 12 weeks. Please let me know if you can help or forward this email to someone you know of that could help. They can get in touch through the contact page on the website!

Upcoming Event volunteering opportunities
We’re looking for volunteers to help out at our next event. The annual #GirlMeetsCode workshop and will take place at Google in Central London during the October half term. This 3-day event will run from Tuesday 22nd October until Friday 25th October, between 10am-4pm. Please let me know if you can volunteer on any of these days and I’ll fill you in on the details!

Getting ready for your first tutoring or mentoring session this term

If you’ve already confirmed your availability or thinking about volunteering with us this term then this blog will definitely be worth reading. It lists a few ideas on how you can effectively manage your time as a volunteer tutor or mentor and make the most of your volunteering experience.

Enjoy your weekend!
