Friends of GT Scholars – Can you help a young person to pursue STEM education?

It’s Friday at last and the weekend is almost here! This week’s news was a little bit more positive, not the usual doom and gloom. The exciting news of the vaccine trial developments that will be rolling out, brings a flicker of hope that things might get better soon. Hats off to the scientists that are making this happen. I hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel that we’ve all been waiting for! Read on to find out how you can support the next generation including possible future scientists…

Can you write a top tips blog on STEM careers?
Did you catch the latest report released by the British Science Association? The report was put together to look at whether the education system and schools provide equal opportunities for students of all ages to learn STEM subjects. In the report, they also included career support and guidance as one of the 6 recommendations for a more joined-up approach to tackle the causes of inequality within the STEM field. We’re looking for volunteers who would like to write a blog on top tips for young people to pursue a career in STEM. Please let me know if you can help!

We normally share this once every year to give volunteers the opportunity to leverage their skills while improving social mobility for young people in London. Our Skills-based volunteering opportunity can empower you to become a change-maker and also give you the opportunity to expand your network. If you’d like to become a skills-based volunteer please complete this volunteer skills survey to tell us more about what you’d like to do.
