Friends of GT Scholars – A big thank you to our volunteers!
Phew! What a week! The Careers Day has come and gone – with over 10,000 registrations, over 5000 young people and parents tuning in for the live stream, and over 50 volunteers supporting us as speakers, moderators & panelists! Despite our ‘computer says no’ situation in the morning, we managed to get everything under control for the rest of the day. Don’t worry too much if you weren’t able to get involved in the Careers Day, we’ve still got more exciting volunteer opportunities coming up. So check out this week’s newsletter to find out more!
A big thank you to our volunteers!
We’re so grateful to have such an incredible network of volunteers, and we’ve been getting some really great feedback from the parents and young people! Overall, young people and parents found the sessions very beneficial and enjoyed learning from the speakers who shared stories about the world of work. Thank you for going above and beyond to make this day a success! We would not have been able to do this without your commitment and dedication to inspire young people. The replays will be going up online for a limited period only. If you’d like access, please feel free to subscribe to our youtube channel so you can be notified via youtube.
Could you help inspire a Future Leader?
We’re looking for volunteer mentors to get involved with the Inspiring Future Leaders programme. This programme will kick off later this month and will run until August 2021. The Inspiring Future Leaders Programme has been designed to help boys in years 8 & 9 to build their leadership skills. As a volunteer mentor, you’ll be spending 1 hour a month mentoring a young person and helping them to reach their goals and aspirations. If you’d like to get involved and join our team of volunteer mentors, please hit reply, and I’ll be in touch with you soon!
Bright Ambitions volunteer tutoring opportunity!
As a mentor or tutor on the Bright Ambitions Programme, you’ll have an opportunity to help a young person between the age of 11 & 16 to improve their grades, leadership skills and also help them achieve their academic & careers goals. The new term will start in mid-April, and we’re looking for more tutors & mentors to volunteer on this programme. If you are available to tutor for 1 hour a week or join as a mentor for 2 hours a month, and you’d like to find out more about this volunteering opportunity, please get in touch with me here!
Have a fantastic weekend!
