Friends of GT Scholars – Have you seen our latest parent spotlight?

Yay! The weekend has arrived! How was your week? Did you have a good one? This term is almost in full swing, and new scholars are set to join the programme on Monday. If you’ve put your hand up to volunteer with us this term, but have not heard from us about a match yet, don’t worry, I’ll be in touch soon! Before you cuddle up for the rainy weekend ahead, grab a warm cup of something and read this week’s newsletter.

Can you code? We need you!
We’re looking for a workshop facilitator with a background in coding and computer science for a coding workshop that we’re planning to run in November. This workshop will help young people to learn new skills for a 21st-century career. So if you consider yourself to be a coding ninja and know the difference between python & java, you might just be the person we are looking for! Please get in touch with me by sending a quick email and feel free to tell any other ninjas about this opportunity!

One of our parents takes the spotlight!
Our latest spotlight interview was with a parent of one of our scholars on the Bright Ambitions Programme. In this interview, she shares her appreciation of what her son’s tutors and mentors have done for them, and says that she is proud of her son who can now say that thanks to being on the programme, he’s participated in coding at the Google headquarters, public speaking, led workshops, and visited the city! If you have a few minutes to read through the inspiring interview, you can have a look at it here!

A word of advice for our teenpreneurs?
Young people from all over the world are signing up for the Global Teenpreneur Challenge, and they are going to need all the support that they can get! We’re looking for professionals that would like to share their wisdom with the teenpreneurs of this year’s challenge. Great people deserve to be quoted! Feel free to reply to this email, and share any life or business advice. We will quote you on our Global Teenpreneur Insta page and will include your name, role, and company if you’d like.

Have a wonderful weekend!
