Life is filled with competition and teamwork, from the playground to the corporate world. This week’s In the Know is slightly different from usual – with a couple of events and a brand new programme to nurture leadership skills in young people!
GT Scholars – Inspiring Future Leaders Programme
Young people in London have so much potential but often face a wide range of challenges – this is why we’ve teamed up with the Mayor of London to launch the Inspiring Future Leaders Programme! This is a new leadership programme for boys aged 12 to 14, who have great leadership skills but are not fully achieving their potential. The 6-month programme will include skill-building days, enrichment days and 1-to1 mentoring. The programme is free to all selected participants, it’s fully funded by Mayor of London & National Lottery and starts on 20th February 2020 until July 2020. If you’re interested or have any questions, please register your interest or call us on 02088168066. Applications close on Monday 10th February 2020.
Northolt library young people’s film club
A team of local young people are hosting a screening of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to celebrate Harry Potter day on Saturday, 8 February 2020 from 1.30pm – 3pm at the Northolt Library, Northolt. This youth-led film group aims to involve and empower local communities by getting young people to make and show their own short films. This free event will consist of several challenges that will test the participants’ magical process and daring powers of deduction. Follow the link for more information.
Nomadic Youth’s Card Club #1 – BOSS MONSTER
Nomadic Youth’s Card Club is hosting their first-ever Card Club on Sunday, 9 February 2020 from 6pm – 8pm at the Blightly Cafe’, Tottenham. At this free event, you play new and interesting card and tabletop games, starting with the incredible and epic dungeon building card game called Boss Monster! This game is inspired by 8-bit side scroller games in which players compete to build the best dungeons, luring in brave heroes between 13 -18 years. Find out more here.
